InnoGames have announced the release of a new feature in the cross-platform title "Forge of Empires: The Guild Expeditions". The new cooperative gameplay function brings guild members together on a completely new jungle-themed map.
Any player in the Iron Age or higher can take part in the Expeditions, which will be restarted every week. Players can contribute to the new Expedition Goals by solving an individual Expedition map. Once a guild has reached a certain level of Expedition Points, they will earn Guild Power, which leads to more rewards and boosts for the whole guild.
The Expeditions map is mostly covered by fog: it will disappear as you progress on the 'path of discovery'. The map you’ll be able to see, unlike the Guild vs Guild map, is only visible to you - each member of your guild has their own instance of the map to discover. You have until the end of the current Expedition to complete it. What is common for all guild members though, is the Guild Expedition goal bar that you can spot right at the top of the screen.
You can contribute to the progress by solving encounters that are available in the encounter locations. When you click on an encounter location, you will trigger a battle with the local inhabitants. A future update will see the release of a negotiate option when dealing with those you encounter. The unit’s age and the overall difficulty of the encounters depend on your own advancement in the tech tree.
Currently Guild Expeditions is only available on browser version of the game due to technical limitations the development team have encountered, but it has been stated that there will be a mobile release of "Forge of Empires' Guild Expeditions" when it has been resolved.
