A tweet posted this morning by Xbox Live's Director of Programming Larry Hryb announced the “Games with Gold” titles available for May. Hryb, better known by his Xbox Live gamertag “majornelson,” blogged details about the promotion.
“Dust: An Elysian Tail” will be offered from May 1-15, and “Saints Row: The Third” will be available from May 16-30. As part of the “Games for Gold” program, Xbox Live members with Gold accounts can download these titles for free.
"Dust: AET" is an action RPG that was originally released in Aug. 2012. It follows the story of Dust, an anthropomorphic, sword-wielding creature who is in search of his past. Noted for its stunning graphics, the game took three years to create due to the fact that designer/creator Dean Dodrill worked almost entirely by himself (with the exception of voice acting, sound, and some story elements). It was originally developed as an indie release but received a release on XBLA by winning the “Dream.Build.Play” challenge in 2009. “Dust: AET” usually retails for $14.99 and has an ESRB rating of E10+ for mild language, fantasy violence, and mild blood.
"Saints Row: The Third” is the third installment of the “Saints Row” franchise. It pits the ever-growing Third Street Saints gang against The Syndicate, a legendary criminal organization, in a fight for turf in a new city. The “Saints Row” series is known for its open-world platform and outlandish scenarios; “The Third” is no exception. Maintaining its Mature rating, it offers all kinds of mayhem and debauchery—blood, gore, drug references, strong language, sexual content, and partial nudity. “The Third” was initially released with a $59.99 price tag for a physical copy, but the current going price is $19.99 on Xbox Live.
Pick them up when you can!
