The highly anticipated sequel to "Amnesia" from developer The Chinese Room is set for release this Tuesday, Sept. 10.
“Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs” follows the journey of industrialist Oswald Mandus after he returns from Mexico, sick, miserable, and with a nasty case of … you guessed it, amnesia. Writer Dan Pinchbeck of indie “Dear Esther” fame joined the team to help create a completely new experience that still keeps to the spirit of the original game, “The Dark Descent:”
There’s a definite case of ‘don’t fix what isn’t broken’. We’re not going to be arming the player up at all – you’re still going to be hiding for most of it and running and peaking and not wanting to open doors and things like that. I think that’s kind of the core spirit of the game really, so we don’t want to take that away from the player.
If you pre-order “A Machine for Pigs,” there is a 20 percent discount (placing the game at a meager $16). You can preorder from both Steam and GOG. It will be available for PC, Mac, and Linux.
