NIS America announced today that the visual novel "Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness" will be released in Europe and North America this fall. Developed by Mages and 5pb, "Mandatory Happiness" follows the anime Psycho-Pass and roughly occurs during the first season of the show, but in a different location - an isolated island. A man and woman, both new characters in the universe of the show, serve as the visual novel's protagonists as they face down a new mystery. Some of the characters from the anime do make appearances in the game.

Strangely enough, even though the game launched in Japan exclusively on the XBox One, it will skip that console entirely when it comes to North America - instead coming to Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita. While this information was not given in the press release, according to the announcement trailer, we should expect to see "Mandatory Happiness" come to Steam, as well. These's no official date on the actual North American/European release yet, just sometime in Fall 2016.
