During Bethesda's E3 press conference, they showed the new "DOOM" gameplay. It greatly resembles the carnage of the original "Doom" games as unspeaking monsters come to attack (presumably titled for the moment) Doom Guy. Enemies suffering damage via a x-ray on limbs occasionally showed up as Doom Guy shot at them so he can get a melee kill. Doom Guy also uses deceased workers' hands (by pulling them off) to get access to new places and gets a chainsaw to tear enemies apart in gruesome detail. The gameplay ended with a flying enemy killing the player.
Multiplayer was also discussed and a little bit was also shown. People can play against each other, get demonic power-ups, and more.
A creation mode called Doom Snapmap was shown where people can create whatever gameplay and level setup they desire.
Hell (or an underworld like level) was shown, harking back to "Doom's" demonic and satanic level design and enemy characterization.
