"World of Warcraft: Legion" follows the third invasion of the Legion, starting with Gul'dan's arrival to the Broken Isles.
The Broken Shore is ground-zero for the Burning Legion invasion of Azeroth, directly from the Tomb of Sargeras. It's also where Azeroth's champions meet up with the race leaders to start player mission to eradicate the invading forces.
Two 20-player groups, one Alliance and the other Horde, work in unison as they ascend up the Broken Shore where they meet the fate of the world.
Demon Hunters
Demon Hunters, begins at level 98 following their own special introductory questline, much like Death Knights. They have taken in fel energy and gouged their own eyes for spectral sight. They serve as the story bridge from the "Burning Crusade." Demon Hunters start in Mardum, having arrived too early to combat the Burning Legion invasion, where Sargeras originally imprisoned them.
Demon hunters use gateways and Legion constructs against the demons on Mardum and tap into their communication. Like Death Knights, players gradually learn their abilities through the introduction, taking the abilities from the demons they kill. Illidan himself will create the Felsaber class-specific mount for players, a bone-headed horse with fel coursing through it's lack of a brain.
Mardum is only one half the demon-hunter introduction. While players are imprisoned, years pass, and the Legion invades. The second half of the intro takes place in Vault of the Wardens, where players are expected to break out. This portion of the game will be playable "soon."
Demon Hunters remain Illidari, then choose a city (Orgrimmar or Stormwind). Once you return to Mardum, players establish their Order Hall. Then players quest for their artifact-level warglaives. We here at Player Theory appreciate the frustration from never getting the original set in BC.
The Broken Isles
Val'sharah is a druid forest where the Emerald Nightmare has started creeping into the zone. It represents a significant portion of the west coast of the Broken Isles. It is the hidden heart of Azerothian druidism, where Malfurion was trained as a druid himself. It is the home to Black Rock Hold.
New moonkin and sea lion forms are coming with "Legion," as well!
