After almost of year of hyping up the release of the latest upgrade to the already amazing “Street Fighter IV,” Capcom has finally announced a hard release date for “Ultra Street Fighter IV”. While not a full game on its own, “Ultra Street Fighter IV” promises to enrich gameplay with five new characters--Poison, Hugo, Elena, Rolento, and Decapre. The former four characters have been included in previous “Street Fighter” games, but “Ultra” marks the first inclusion of Decapre (one of M. Bison's "Dolls") as a playable character.
The PlayStation Network will see the new content uploaded June 3 whereas XBLA users will have to wait one day (June 4). Priced at $14.99, this release date is for the digital download upgrade only. Those who wish to pick up a full retail copy can do so at local retailers starting August 5 for $39.99. PC gamers will have to wait until August 8 when it is released on Steam. PC pricing is set at $29.99. All versions of the game will include previous DLC costume packs; users who preorder “Ultra Street Fighter IV” will receive a bonus costume pack for the new characters.
This release date falls little more than a month prior to EVO 2014. Various iterations of the “Street Fighter” series are the cornerstone of the annual fighting game tournament with “Super Street Fighter IV” being the premier event. “Ultra” was announced at last year’s EV0 and has been confirmed for inclusion in this year’s lineup.
