Update: Composer Arnie Roth has made a statement to correct himself. "Remake" was not used correctly, but that doesn't mean a remaster is out of the question.
Dear friends,
In response to comments posted by fans, I want to rectify a statement made from the stage Saturday night at our Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY concert in Pittsburgh.
Following conversations with composer Hitoshi Sakimoto regarding new concert arrangements of music from FINAL FANTASY XII, regrettably, the term ‘remake’ was used in error during one of the announcements that took place from the stage during the concert.
We sincerely regret any confusion this has caused. Arnie Roth
As posted by FFNetwork, composer Arnie Roth may revealed that there's a "Final Fantasy XII" remake in the works at a "Final Fantasy Distant Worlds" concert.
Now what Roth meant here is a bit unclear. While he did say remake for "Final Fantasy XII," Square Enix hasn't revealed anything yet. Roth could also have meant a remastered version of the game, similar to "Final Fantasy X/X-2." However, this announcement is coming from a composer, so we'll have to wait and see what Square Enix has to say on the matter.
