If there is anything to take away from "Conan Exiles" its that warfare is going to be king amongst players and shape the world as players experience it. Fighting for land, resources and for building space it's going to come down to sword, hammer and bow to keep your claim. What happens though when someone's staked a claim, built a city and defends it viciously? how about you summon a god?
“That is the epitome of player vs. player conflict in Conan Exiles. We are giving players a huge, detailed open world where they can go out build a village, a city, or a vast empire in their name. If you are on a PvP multiplayer server, just remember there is always someone willing to take that from you!”
Joel Bylos, Creative Director at Funcom
To dominate the Exiled Lands, players will also have to build cities and fortresses to claim land, and they must go out and capture thralls to help them defend their settlements or create special weapons and armor. These thralls can also become heroes in their own right, being greater threats to your attackers.
To truly dominate the "Conan Exiles" world, they must also build altars to their god and bring them sacrifices to appease them. If they earn the blessings of their god, players will ultimately get to summon and take direct control of huge, towering avatars of the gods that can roam the world and crush both bodies and buildings under their weight.
Don't worry though, you don't have to play on a server that has avatars if you don't want to. You'll have the option of join PVP or PVE servers as well as some that have had the god avatars disabled. It's okay, your pretty mountain fortress is safe for now...
If you want to take on the challenge of avatars though, feel free to stab, poke and prod it with your weapons or hunt down its summoner. Summoners control the avatars and when a player is in control of an avatar, their soft, killable body is somewhere on the map. Find it, kill it...stop the god.
"Conan Exiles" comes out on early-release for the PC starting tomorrow! It will arrive on Xbox One later this Spring.
