EGX Rezzed is just 11 days away, and Creative Assembly is already threatening to steal the spotlight by bringing "Total War" to the event.
This year they will be celebrating 15 years of the "Total War" strategy game series, and to honor the series, Creative Assembly plans to give visitors to the event some hands-on gaming, a session with the developer, and exclusive giveaways across all three days of the event, starting on the March 12.
"Total War: ATTILA" will also be playable at the event much like it was at last year’s EGX, but this time around they are bringing a host of previous "Total War" titles with them. "SHOGUN: Total War," "MEDIEVAL: Total War," "Total War: SHOGUN II," "Total War: ROME II," and many more will make an appearance and give fans a chance to relieve some of the greats of the series.
Perhaps most interesting of all, players will get the chance to see and try out "Total War Battles: KINGDOM." Currently in closed Beta, Creative Assembly are hoping to reignite the strategy genre with this next title by combining intense battles with army management, kingdom building, and devious social plotting. Each day, a limited number of lucky visitors will walk away with a Beta key.
In addition, throughout the duration of EGX Rezzed, Creative Assembly will be giving away 1,000 gifts to people who play any of the "Total War" titles at the show. The extra special prizes? Well they are certainly something different:
- An exclusive "Total War: ROME II-"painted PC.
- A replica Viking helmet.
- A Nightblade B85 PCs worth £800 (~$1,200 USD) or a Multi-Touch Screen Gaming All In One PC worth £2,000 (~$3,100 USD).
On top of the games and the prizes, Creative Assembly will also be hosting a developer session on March 13 titled "A Game of Bones – 15 Years of Battle Animation in Total War." It’s designed to give fans, old and new, an insight into how the animation process has evolved in "Total War" games over the last 15 years.
Having reached our 15th year of developing Total War games, we are thrilled to share this journey with everyone attending EGX Rezzed this year. It’s been a fantastic voyage for Creative Assembly and we are excited to offer a glimpse of what makes battle animations possible in a Total War game, from old to new.
