Coming months after the game being revealed to the world (though only released in Japan thus far), Deadline revealed that a "Detective Pikachu" movie is going to be made.
The move has been confirmed by both Legendary Entertainment and the Pokemon Company. The "Pokemon" series is no stranger to the movie realm with plenty of movies. However, the "Detective Pikachu" movie will be live-action, which will be the first live action "Pokemon" movie (or at the very least big scale movie anyways). No casting, plot details, characters other than Detective Pikachu, or anything else has been announced yet. The popular opinion to have Danny DeVito is still high on that note, and we'll see if the Pokemon Company caught wind of the popularity.
