The finals day of "EVO" is always the best. The final day is when all the finals take place of the major games. Along with announcements and news, lets get started with the results.
"Blazblu Chrono Phantasm"
The "Blazblu" finals ended in tears as Garireo took the championship from Dogura in a back and forth war. Every match shifted control over and over, but fighting all the way back from the losers bracket Garireo won his first "EVO" Championship. Garireo was overwhelmed with emotion and cried as he was presented the trophy. His emotion poured to others, and people shed tears all around. This was the biggest grand prize ever in a "Blazblu" tournament. "Blazblu" Finals had over 75,000 viewers on Twitch.

"Killer Instinct"
Killer Instinct was no slouch. Justin Wong fought hard but ended up taking third place losing, out to Rico Suave in losers bracket. The grand finals was CDJR (winners) vs. Rico Suave (losers), forcing Rico to have to win two sets to take the tournament. CDJR made Rico look Free, taking the set 3-1. Congrats to CDJR on his first EVO win, with views peaking at over 85,000.

Smash was really hype, but Mango runs it back to win his second EVO "Smash" title in a row! There were no surprises here, as Mango was the best player. The viewers grew even more at this point with over 100,000 viewers; the "Smash" following is still alive and kicking.

"Marvel vs. Capcom" was the hype of the night, and I really hope you all tuned in as viewers topped out around 200,000 for the finals of "Street Fighter." The only real announcement to speak of was "Tekken 7." The announcement was leaked earlier in the day, so it wasn't a huge surprise. "EVO" lived up to its name as the biggest fighting game tournament in the world. After Daigo dropped the ball this year, was this his last year in the fighting game community? Or will he return next year to win? Only time will tell, stay with us here at Player Theory to get all the updates.
