The newest iteration in the "Far Cry" series is confirmed for Nov. 18 in U.S. and Nov. 20 in EMEA territories. It will be cross-gen, seeing release on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
The title has been rumoured for the last several months, including an accidental slip from the game's composer. Via the Ubisoft Blog, it is now officially confirmed, and details have been released.
Players will be shelving the tropical attire in favour of warmer wares. "Far Cry 4" moves into the fictional region of Kyrat, an untamed land ruled by a despotic self-appointed king. Ubisoft promises a diverse set of vehicles and weapons allowing players to craft their own stories amongst breathtaking landscapes in the mountainous region. According to Dan Hay, executive producer:
Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans' expectations.
Pre-ordering bumps you up to the Limited Edition, featuring missions showcasing the Hurk character from "Far Cry 3." Not only will the Limited Edition include his "Redemption" missions but will also provide players with "The Impaler," Hurk's harpoon gun.
A more thorough introduction to the game is set for next month's E3 trade show.
