Open-world wizard Ubisoft has put out a quick teaser showcasing the bonus goodies we'll get for pre-ordering "Far Cry 4." Players who do so will automatically receive the not-so-Limited Edition, which includes three missions with the incredible Hurk, a powerful harpoon gun known as The Impaler and ...additional monkeys. This is very serious business.
Fans of "Far Cry 3" will recognize Hurk as the thick-headed adrenaline junkie who headlined the game's Monkey Business Pack, which was itself a pre-order bonus. Back then, he was known to strap explosives to primates and send them scurrying toward enemy lines. One can only imagine his plans as he arrives in the fictional Himalayan region of Kyrat.
The Impaler is the size of a minigun, and there's no denying Hurk's affection for it "in and out of the bedroom." From the video footage, it looks to operate much like "Half Life 2's" crossbow, which would pin enemies against walls and large objects, leaving them in a satisfying ragdoll state.
Though the ethics of withholding content for one reason or another are always sigh-inducing, the reality is that monkeys are awesome. Please don't impale them!
"Far Cry 4" will release on Nov. 18 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
