Square Enix has announced that "Final Fantasy XV" will be delayed to November 29, 2016.
Director Hajime Tabata took to YouTube and addressed the delay of the game. The "master version" of the game is completed, but that's the version of what comes on the disc. If Square Enix was to release the game as of now, there would be some sort of Day-1 patch because Square believes that there is still some work to ensure the game gets to the highest level of quality.
Instead of simply putting out a Day-1 patch for everything, they wanted everyone to get the quality they wanted. The idea was that the Day-1 patch wouldn't be obtained by those without internet. There's also some substantial content in the patch.
With the new release date, "Final Fantasy XV" is expected to release on November 29 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
