The highly anticipated survival MMO "H1Z1" has been outed as coming to Steam Early Access on January 15, 2015. The game was announced in April 2014 and is being developed by Sony Online Entertainment. It was announced as a free to play MMO with micro-transactions, though the developers have placed a $19.99 price tag on the Steam Early Access release. They've also hinted at a more expensive SKU that has not as-of-yet been released.
According to user j_smedley on reddit when the team "what we could have had earlier it wasn't good enough and we wanted to put something out that we would be proud of." They are touting the product that will be released on January 15, 2015 as "everything Early Access should be - a fun and compelling game that isn't finished."
There are already some notable comparisons between this game and "DayZ." The most recognizable difference available now is that "H1Z1" takes place in the U.S., while "DayZ" takes place in the fictional post-Soviet state of Chenarus. Another available comparison is the map size; the available land-mass in "DayZ" is 225 square kilometers whereas the initial map in "H1Z1" will be 64 square kilometers.
Until release we wait in anticipation of what could be. I know I plan on being ready on January 15 to click the "Add to Cart" button and join the fray. Is there an upcoming title you are excited to see released? Let us know in the comments!
