A tweet from the official Twitter for "Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number" revealed the release date for the game at Q3 2014. That means the hotly anticipated follow-up to 2012's "Hotline Miami" is expected to hit shelves sometime this summer or before the end of Sept. 2014.
Early previews from developer Dennaton Games revealed gameplay almost identical to that of its predecessor. The added wrinkle in part two is a newly added "hard mode". Players must complete levels with a C+ or better to unlock the hard mode for a given stage. At the game's most punishing difficulty, enemies will be more difficult to take down and occasionally revoke the player's abilities. Beyond that, expect hyper violent, twitch gameplay with a cryptic storyline and beautiful 8-bit graphics.
Co-creator Dennis Wedin confirmed that this story will mark the series' "end," providing players with closure to the series.
