Let’s sit down and have a chat for a moment, can we? Just how much do you know about indie gaming? I don’t mean the world of AAA developers calling themselves indie because it’s a cool word, but the guys and girls of the world who make video games because they can and because it’s fun.
I want to spread the word, I want you to learn more about what is out there in the real world of Indie games. It’s our chance to find out about those guys and girls who want to entertain you, but don’t have the million dollar budgets. They say knowledge is power, and in gaming the more you know, the more fun you could be having.
So lets get started!
"Mondo"
Icebound Software, headed by one man team Aaron Glazer, is about to release its debut game “Mondo” on July 25.
The premise is simple, score as many points as you can before the game ends. It sounds easy enough but it doesn’t stop just there. This is an old school arcade game, full of action, frantic gunplay, and the need to score points.
"Mondo" is a yellow ball, and proof that you don’t need to be super attractive when your weapon changes every 15 seconds. So as you marvel at your arsenal as it cycles out of your control, you’ll be under the assault of homicidal enemies who want you dead. It’s not over yet either because while struggling with the ever changing weapons and dodging your enemies you have to reset a series of nuclear reactors to prevent a power plant from exploding.
You can follow the game on twitter at @MondoTheGame.
So that’s the first entry, remember to check back cause we’ll soon have another look at what’s lurking in the world of indie gaming.
