After getting the game leaked by GameStop (which Ed Boon hilariously stated that GameStop is off the invitation list [whether just in humor or something else isn't known]), NetherRealm Studios officially announced "Injustice 2."
Note that this particular game doesn't have a subtitle like the first game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us," does, so the title may still be in the works. The line "every battle defines you" is said, but that may not be the actual subtitle, if there will be one. No gameplay was shown, though there appears to be a new mechanic involving super armored suits, similar to Marvel's Iron Man suit (why Superman of all people needs super armor is a good question). Supergirl was also shown, with Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd being said to be in the game as well.
An accompanying letter was also released, with this standout statement:
Every battle defines you in a game where players personalize iconic DC characters with unique and powerful gear earned throughout the game. For the first time gamers can take control of how their characters look, fight and develop across a variety of game modes.”
As how the gear works isn't known, but ov er the upcoming weeks we can expect WB Games and NetherRealm Studios to announce more news and reveals in the future. The game is expected to come out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in 2017.
