NetherRealm Studios revealed Jason Voorhees from the "Friday the 13th" films (on Friday the 13th no less) as a playable character in the forthcoming "Mortal Kombat X."
Jason will be part of the "Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack," which includes four characters and several skins. Jason serves as the one guest character, with presumably one other to be announced, and two other "Klassic" characters. Some of the skins that are part of the DLC pack include Ronin Kenshi, Samurai Shinnok and Jingu Kitana, which confirms Kenshi and Shinnok until NetherRealm officially reveals them or when the game comes out.
IGN also confirms that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will be delayed.
Freddy Krueger also appeared as a guest character in "Mortal Kombat (2011)," alongside Kratos from the "God of War" series as a PlayStation 3 exclusive fighter. Several DC Comics characters also appeared to fight "Mortal Kombat" characters, such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, and more.
"Mortal Kombat X" is scheduled to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 14, while the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are now slated for a summer release.
