This week, Knight Models announced that in collaboration with Warner Brothers, they are producing a tabletop miniatures game set in the Harry Potter universe. Simply named "Harry Potter Miniatures Adventure Game," the game features all the characters that you love from the series, recreated into finely-detailed, 35mm miniatures as they duel one another for magical supremacy in a multitude of settings. Check out the announcement trailer below:
Besides the beautifully-crafted miniatures, there isn't a whole lot of specific information known about the game yet. From the website we know that players will be able to form teams of witches and wizards, equip them with a plethora of spells, artifacts and potions then use their team to explore different settings from the Harry Potter universe in order to complete certain objectives and, we assume, toss a few stupefy-es in the direction of the other player's team. Currently, the game allows for 2+ players to participate but does not list a maximum (yet).
It's important to note, that while a lot of the pictures we've seen of the miniatures are painted, the actual pieces in game will be grey resin - giving the owner the ability to paint them anyway that they like. If you've never painted minis before, it is recommended you watch a few tutorial videos or talk to someone who has done it before to get some of the basics down. It can be super rewarding to paint miniatures, but if you don't know what you're doing, it's easy to get frustrated. As with all things, practice makes perfect!
Knight Models will reveal more information about the game on February 27th, launching the "Harry Potter Miniatures Adventure Game" website. The Kickstarter to get the game fully funded will launch on March 14th of this year.
