“WildStar’s” Lead Class Designer High Shelton left Carbine Studios today, announcing his departure from the company through Twitter. So far, a reason for the move has not been officially stated.
Shelton also said his official goodbye to the “WildStar” subreddit where developers maintained an active presence during beta and well after the official launch of the MMO.
The “WildStar” community saw its last resignation only a month ago when Jeremy “Gaffer” Gaffney stepped down from his role as president of Carbine Studios:
I wanted to let you know that I’m stepping down as President of Carbine Studios. I’m not leaving entirely; I’ll be adopting more of a consulting role going forward with Carbine (and possibly elsewhere in the industry down the road). This is not a bad thing. Some of our current development stars will be stepping up to lead “WildStar” forward while I can help work with them from the outside. Jeremy Gaffney, Former President of Carbine Studios
Currently, the “WildStar” subreddit is speculating that the unknown subscription cancellation numbers, among other reasons, are to blame, but no official reason has been given for Shelton’s resignation. Speculation is almost a given considering how little Shelton has offered in the way of an explanation:
I left on my own accord, and I'll be starting at my new job on Monday ;D. Adiós! Hugh Shelton, Former “WildStar” Lead Class Designer
