Those who get bored at holiday gatherings can now do something else to pass the time.
U.K.-based puzzle games developer Lightwood Games announced the release of their newest word search game, “Epic Word Search Holiday Special,” for the Nintendo 3DS, priced at $7.99.
The third entry to their “Epic Word Search” series contains five differently-themed puzzles: Halloween, monster, Christmas, love, and summer. According to the developer, each puzzle contains around 1,500 words, hidden in a sea of 14,000 letters.
“We think it takes an experienced puzzler around 10 hours to solve each of the five word search puzzles in the collection,” said Chris Newman, founder and managing director of Lightwood Games.
In order to traverse the giant grid, players move their view around using the 3DS’ circle pad or d-pad. The game will show a list of hidden words for that section on the upper screen, and each word will disappear as they are found. Hidden words are selected on the touch screen using the stylus. The game’s StreetPass functionality also allows players to share their progress with other players.
