CI Games and publisher Square Enix have announced the release date for "Lords of the Fallen," their newest title coming to current generation consoles and Windows PC. Based loosely on the "Dark Souls series," Polish developer CI Games and German developer Deck 13 have been working on the title since 2011.
Revealed last year, "Lords of the Fallen" follows Harkyn, a man with a 'dark past', fighting against demons. The world is controlled by the Fallen God, who failed mankind and let the evil loose. Players will be able to make decisions to change the game's end, following or defying the gods.
Gameplay wise, "Lords of the Fallen" offers warrior, cleric or rogue classes. In the YouTube demo, CI Games talks about how players can choose different class combos to mix up the gameplay. Different enemies will fight in different ways. The player must be able to adjust to this change, or face death.
"Dark Souls" has become one of the most loved (or hated) games, with a loyal fanbase committed to finishing the game on the hardest difficulty. CI Games wants to create the same experience, expanding on it with different classes and enemies, offering something different for the player each time they play.
"Lords of the Fallen" is scheduled for worldwide release on October 31, 2014.
