The March 2016 Nintendo Direct has come and past, and here's the information on what was revealed and announced.
More of "Star Fox Zero" was revealed, keeping its April 22, 2016 release date. It was also revealed that tapping a Fox amiibo figure will unlock the classic Arwing skin for your ship. In addition to "Zero," "Star Fox Guard" was announced, where players will control Slippy as he uses a defense grid similar to the tech demo shown at a previous E3.
"Splatoon" will content to see updates, such as weapon/gear tweaks.
While the 3DS version is still coming out on March 18, 2016, "Mario & Sonic at the Rio Olympics" will be coming to the Wii U on June 24, 2016 for North America and Europe.
"Super Mario Maker" will be getting new items in a future update, which includes keys and pink coins in order to complete the level. I sense even harder levels coming...
"Genei Ibun Roku # FE," that "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" game, has been given an official Western titled: "Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE." Interestingly, the title is "SMT" just backwards. The game will release in North America and Europe on June 24, 2016.
"Paper Mario: Color Splash" was revealed, which will come to the Wii U sometime in 2016. Not much is known about the title other than Mario will use paint/color to bring back life to this new area. It seems to be taking some queues from "Paper Mario: Sticker Star."
For the New Nintendo 3DS only, the Virtual Console will start receiving classic Super Nintendo titles. After the presentation, "F-Zero," "Pilotwings," and "Super Mario World" will be available to purchase (mirroring the SNES's launch titles). Other titles such as "EarthBound," "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past," and "Donkey Kong Country 2" will be available in the near future.
"Hyrule Warriors Legends" will be releasing on the 3DS on March 24, 2016. There will be a season pass, which will get you four DLC packs. Buying the season pass will get the exclusive Ganondarf skin resembling his "Wind Waker" appearance. Medli, one of "Wind Waker's" characters, will be available to download for free for both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game.
There will be a "Bravely Second: End Layer" beta available on March 7 if you are a Best Buy Club Unlocked member. The beta will be available to everyone else on March 10.
"Monster Hunter X" was confirmed to be coming to the West under a new title: "Monster Hunter Generations." It'll be coming to North America and Europe in Summer 2016.
"Rhythm Heaven Meagmix" is coming to the West, though not much information was given other than that it's a collection of mini-games spanning the "Rhythm Heaven" series, which includes stuff from Japan only titles.
"Metroid Prime: Federation Force" will be coming to the 3DS sometime in Spring 2016. It will have Samus Aran appear as a cameo.
One of the last and bigger announcements comes in the form of the new Kirby game for the 3DS: "Kirby: Planet Robobot." In this title, Kirby uses the enemies' giant mechs to fight back, which has its own super-powered versions of Kirby's copy ability. The game comes with a mini-game called "Team Kirby Clash," where four players can team up to fight powerful foes and acts like a RPG. Kirby will also get his own line of amiibo, which includes Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Waddle Dee, which will be his first amiibo. These amiibo, along with the "Super Smash Bros." line, will give Kirby copy abilities (even the Smash one) and skins from the "Kirby" amiibo line. The game launches on June 10, 2016.
