Nintendo announced a new 3DS model at the latest Nintendo Direct. Two new 3DS models are coming out very soon, the new XL and the regular 3DS. These new models are going to hit Japan's shelves on October 13th 2014, with no release date for the US yet.
The first of the new features is a second analog stick called the "C-Stick". It is located on the right hand side closer to the top screen. This "C-Stick" seems to be favoring the control of games that rely on the shoulder buttons. Its an excellent add-on and will make playing games like "Monster Hunter" that much easier.
Along with the new "C-Stick" are the "ZR" and "ZL" buttons, located next to their respective buttons on the back of the handheld. This seems to heavily focus on helping playing games with the "C-Stick."
Then, of course, comes the hardware upgrades, with the major focus being on the new "Super-Stable 3D" function which alllows for a much more relaxing 3D experience. Below are the changes from the old model to the new model:
Along with all these new buttons and hardware, comes interchangeable cover plates. Now you can make your 3DS personal by changing out the cover plate to fit your style. The 3DS was already great and is now looking even better, so if you haven't grabbed one yet then this will be your chance to get the latest and greatest model when it eventually releases in the United States.
