In addition to the recent announcement of the 2DS, Nintendo released details concerning their fall lineup and WiiU price drop.
The WiiU price drop is likely a response to the criticisms levied at Nintendo from outlets (Player Theory included) for the unreasonable price point of $349. Nintendo North America president and CEO Reggie Fils-Aime also expressed wishes to increase the install base of the WiiU to incentivize third-party development.
The WiiU Deluxe Model will see a $50 drop this fall to $299. This package will include the added bonus of “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD,” a digital copy of the “Hyrule Historia” book, and a "Zelda"-themed GamePad.
Nintendo kept the good-news-train rolling by announcing details of their lineup for first- and third-party games coming this Fall. Nintendo confirmed the release dates for most of the titles but have kept quiet on “WiiU Fit” and “Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games,” surely keeping active moms and 10-year-olds restless with anticipation.
