Back in August, "Pokken" screens were leaked, and the game was announced. Since then, no news has surfaced about it ... until now.
"Pokken" will be getting a test run in Japanese arcades before it will see anymore work. Harada stated that "Pokken" will be a seriously competitive fighting game for the hardcore crowd. The arcade scene will quickly determine how interested the fighting game community will be. Arcades are huge in Japan and are still very much alive as compared to the American scene.
With arcades charging 100 yen for a single play, players will most certainly dismiss a boring game early on, a really harsh environment for new titles.
However, this is great news for the arcade crowd, and great news for "Pokémon" fans. Stay with us here at Player Theory for more news as it develops!
