A questionable image of a blog post that may have originated from Blizzard has details pertaining to an upcoming new event for "Overwatch," and possibly the long-awaited hero-hacker Sombra.
Here is the text as we can transcribe it:
"[...][p]rotect the castle doors from the Zomnics and Dr. Junkenstein's evil allies."[...]"
"[...][t]ry your hand at three different difficulties - the harder the difficulty, the more points you can earn!"
"Hero: Sombra (she will be hacking her way into the build later tonight)"
"[...][Som]bra is one of the world's best and most notorious hackers. As a child she lost everything during the Omnic Cris[...]"
"[...]ies with computers to survive. She worked with the Los Muertos gang in Mexico, executing increasingly more h[...]"
"[...]s until she attracted to much unwanted attention and had to go underground. During that time, she upgraded h[...]"
"[...]nentations and was recruited by the mysterious Talon organization. While Sombra seems content to work with[...]"
It's not a whole lot to go off of, and this is all just rumor right now, but it looks like we may be seeing a players-versus-bots gameplay mode - which will likely have something to do with the Junkenstein comic that was recently leaked. The original leaked version is in Portuguese, but you can find an English version [a href="https://imgur.com/gallery/Co4k6h">here. I imagine it'll have something to do with this mad scientist version of Junkrat creating undead/Frankenstein versions of the Overwatch heroes and sending them at the players in increasingly difficult waves.
Also, there is news of Sombra, and based on the text "hacking her way into the build later tonight" really makes it seem like we'll be seeing her sooner rather than later. It will be interesting to see how this new hero changes the gameplay dynamics and player strategies of "Overwatch" as a whole.
All these potential updates will likely appear during the rumored Halloween event that should be starting soon. An XBox leaked image of the Halloween loot crates confirms that there will be some kind of Halloween event, but we just don't know when yet. It will be run like the Summer Games events during the Olympics where any loot crate you get will feature Halloween-related skins, sprays, emotes and the like, and will likely only last a couple of weeks.
Still, as exciting as these leaks are, it's important to remember that they are just rumors. Player Theory is looking forward to whatever Blizzard has planned in the upcoming weeks.
