After a lot of rumors and speculation, we finally know where the next game in the long-running "Call of Duty" series (this is the 13th game) is going to take place - space. Activision released this trailer today:
The game is set in the far future and seems to be focused on a group of human colonies on the new space frontier rising up against Earth. The trailer starts with the Settlement Defense Front (the "bad guys") launching a devastating surprise attack against Earth. In response, Earth (well, the United Nations Space Alliance) launches it's own counterattack - putting the player on the front-lines of an interstellar conflict.
Based on the trailer, some of the new things we'll see in "Infinite War" are dog-fighting (in spaaace), launching raids on enemy ships and the occasional EVA. And it looks like we'll be seeing some robots as well. It will certainly be interesting to see how the lack of gravity will come into play when it comes to the shooter-element of the game that "Call of Duty" is known for - I certainly believe it'll spice things up a bit.
Anyone that purchases the Legacy, Legacy Pro, or Digital Deluxe editions of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" will also get a copy of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered." According to the Support FAQ, there is no other way to get the remastered game.
"Call of Duty: Infinite War" is set for release on PS4, XBox One and PC on November 4th of this year.
