We all heard it was happening. A remake of "Final Fantasy 7." There have been screenshots and rumors for what seems like years, but today at the PSX Keynote, Playstion gave us all a taste of what they've been working on.
The trailer seems to focus mostly on the first chapter or two of the game, but it seems to be keeping very true to the original game that came out in 1997. The graphics, of course, have been overhauled and look incredible. We only get a few glimpses of the combat, and while it certainly looks more cinematic and action-oriented, it does look like the developers have decided to remain true to the turn-based combat of the original game.
Besides some basic game-play mechanics, we also get to hear a bit of the voice-acting in the game, and at least I feel like they nailed the voices for these iconic characters.
Not much else is known about the "Final Fantasy 7" remake, but we will remain on the lookout for any new information.
