In 2005, the original "Shadows of the Colossus" arrived on the Playstation 2, and blew everyone away. It seemed generations ahead of it's time. Well, twelve years later, Wander is coming back to take down the colossi again in a glorious HD remake of the classic title. Check out the trailer below:
Specifics of this surprise announcement are scarce at the moment, but it's impossible to deny the excitement the crowd in the Shrine Auditorium when it became apparent what the trailer was showing them. Even in 2005, "Shadows of the Colossus" changed what people could expect from a video game in the modern era - games could be artistic, emotional experiences.
They could be awe-inspiring.
This remake takes the remaster the game received in 2011 for the PS3, and brings it further into the present, with gorgeously-rendered new textures and models that should insure that "Shadows of the Colossus" remain in the ever vibrant video game discourse for a long time to come.
"Shadows of the Colossus" doesn't have a specific release date yet, but it is expected in 2018 for the Playstation 4.
