Sony announced that they will not be in attendance for Gamescom 2015. A Sony representative told IGN the reasoning behind their absence and why they'll be attending Paris Games Week on October 27 instead.
We're delighted to announce that we will be hosting an international media briefing at Paris Games Week on 27th October. With the changes this year of E3 taking place a week later and Gamescom taking place earlier, we feel that both PlayStation and the wider industry would benefit from a major news milestone later in the year, during the most important period for gaming.
We are excited about our plans and look forward to sharing some exciting announcements. We will share more information closer to the time. Sony
Sony's decision could also be backed up by having certain games not being ready for a reveal until October, but that is speculation. E3 will start on June 16 and Paris Games Week will start on October 28 with Sony having their international media briefing on October 27.
