There are two expansions on their way for in the third wave of Star Wars: Armada expansions, one for the Rebels and one for the Imperials.
These two new units introduce the Flotilla to the table top dog fights. While they might not be heavy on the fire power and offer limited self-defense, the function of this new unit type is less to make themselves shine and more to bolster the fleet around them.
The Imperial Assault Carriers and Rebel Transports come with a slew of new upgrade cards - most of which bear the Fleet Support icon. Imperials will have access to equipment like a Bomber Command Center and the rebels can draw more fight from their damaged fleet by giving them access to Repair Crews.
New mechanics lead to new strategies and that can only mean more great match-ups and clever new tactics to rid the galaxy of the enemy.
