On Friday, the official Telltale Games blog announced that retail copies of their insanely popular games “The Walking Dead” and “The Wolf Among Us” will be coming to the new generation of consoles some time later this year. Telltale also noted that these games will receive retail versions on Xbox 360 and PS3 as well after their “continuing success as a digital download.” While the first season of “The Walking Dead” has been released on PS3 and Xbox 360, this will be the first retail disc release of “The Wolf Among Us” series.
“In Harm's Way”, which is the fourth chapter in the second season of “The Walking Dead,” was released earlier this month. “In Sheep's Clothing,” the fourth chapter of “The Wolf Among Us,” was released earlier this week. Both games are noted for their keen use of atmosphere, as well as their compelling story lines. Based on indie graphic novels ("The Walking Dead" by Robert Kirkman and "Fables" by Bill Willingham), these two series have very devoted followings in their various forms of media.
No official release dates or price points have been announced. However, many online retailers are posting pre-order links for some of these games. Based on the pricing listed on Best Buy's pre-order page for "The Walking Dead: Season One" Game of the Year edition, we might see a standard price point of $29.99 from various retailers.
