"Moon Hunters" Successfully Funded
Kitfox Games’ Kickstarter campaign had an excellent last few days. Their final total of $178,986 sees them through their initial funding and 12 stretch goals! Two more friendly factions, two more playable classes, PS4 and PS Vita compatibility, and online multiplayer for PC and Mac are just a few of the additions made possible thanks to everyone who backed this beautiful project. I can’t wait to play it!
App Release Update
"Galaxy Trucker" released for iOS this week and should be out for Android by the end of the year. Right now it is $5 on the App Store. That introductory price should be good until about Oct. 11 so if you’re interested don’t wait!
Still Building on the Brand
Over at LEGO Ideas, a design for the F7A Hornet from Kickstarter-funded "Star Citizen" reached 10,000 backers and is slotted for its official LEGO review.
“How fitting that a Kickstarter funded video game should find its way onto LEGO Ideas! I can't imagine a better ship to fight for the United Empire of (LEGO) Earth …Your F7A Hornet looks like it's all business with tough armored panels and a full complement of weapons. It's clear the Star Citizen community wants to see this iconic fighter as a LEGO set, and we're happy to advance your project to the LEGO Review phase.” LEGO
Hopefully we’ll be able to see this on shelves someday, but the memories of the "FTL:Faster Than Light" campaign and what-could-have-been still linger.
Swimming Pool DLC for "The Sims 4"
Actual retail price: free. Thank goodness!
Over the next few months, we should also see DLC updates that will add new outfits, career paths, and, first up in October, the return of ghosts. Now your dead Sim relatives can stick around with all of the (possibly) charming traits they had in life and new behaviors based on how they died. (I’m sure it’ll be fine.) Also in October, a few "Star Wars" costumes will be available for your rockin’ virtual Halloween block party.
I hope EA knows that we definitely appreciate their effort in giving us what we’ve come to expect from "The Sims," but we just have one more tiny little request: toddlers.
Sales on Steam
Until Saturday, Oct. 4 at roughly noon, "Planetary Annihilation" is on sale for a mere $15. Pick it up. Build elaborate, mechanized, army-building bases. Move that army to the nearest moon. Build rocket boosters on said moon. Slingshot said moon at your friends. Laugh.
