Remember the Sega Genesis classic "Toejam and Earl" series? The duo is making a comeback on Kickstarter for the new title "Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove."
Greg Johnson, the guy who helped create the first few "Toejam and Earl" games, is behind this project. He says he and the people at Humanature Studios are trying to recreate the original feel of the older games with a 3D world and 2D sprites. The game, currently in an early prototype stage, will feature 4-player offline and online cooperative play. The two characters that will be presumably playable are Toejam and Earl's friends Peabo and Lewanda (along with other friends of theirs, which they didn't explicitly say which of those would be playable).
The game is only set for a PC release, but Greg and Humanature Studios express great interest in expanding to other platforms. The goal for the "Toejam and Earl: Back into the Groove" Kickstarter is $400,000.
