If you weren't already aware, there is a reboot of one of the premiere 4x strategy games, "Master of Orion," currently underway. The popular game was originally released in 1993 and even now, more than twenty years later, it remains a popular and treasured titled. So as you can imagine with such a cherished IP, NGD Studios and Wargaming (WG Labs) are not messing around as the game's developers.
Today, WG Labs revealed the star-studded cast that is going to make up the voice actors for the new game - and it is quite a cast.
If you weren't paying attention, you have Dwight Schultz (Star Trek: The Next Generation) voicing the GNN Anchor, Alan Tudyk (Firefly) as the Psilon Advisor, John de Lancie (Star Trek: The Next Generation) as the Human Emperor, Michael Dorn (Star Trek: The Next Generation) as the Narrator and, of course, Mark Hamill playing the Alkari Emperor. If none of those names rung a bell for you, this new "Master of Orion" is introducing a new race of space warriors called the Terrans, and their emperor will be voiced by none other than Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street).
If the voice actors they managed to attract is any indication of what the final production of the game will be like, I feel like hardcore fans of the series will be quite pleased with the end result.
"Master of Orion" is set for release on February 26th of this year on PC, Mac OS and Linux systems!
