Playtonic Games has officially revealed their characters and gameplay footage of the spiritual successor to "Banjo-Kazooie-" "Yooka-Laylee." Get it? A pun on ukelele.
IGN also received some gameplay footage to show.
Yooka is the chameleon and Laylee is the bat. The two of them have special abilities, such as using Yooka's tongue as a grappling hook and Laylee's sonar blast.
"Yooka-Laylee" will be launching on Kickstarter on May 1st with several Rare veterans developing and working on the artwork for the game. The finished version is expected to cost $15/£10. There will be additional goodies for backers planned, such as soundtracks, art books, and what is being called a "64-bit" special edition. If successfully funded, the game will release on PC/Mac, Wii U, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
