I exist at all thanks to the Atari 2600. When my parents were dating, my dad owned the console, which he used to show my mom he “wasn’t like the other guys.” He offered my mom a few of her favorite beers and a couple of matches on a regular basis until they married in 1985. Some of my earliest memories involve my parents, “Super Mario Brothers/Duck Hunt,” and someone’s NES at either our house or the house of a family friend. I’ve been gaming ever since.
